Le Teich: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Nature

Four elevated viewpoints in the Réserve Ornithologique du Teich offer views of the landscapes of the reserve and its surroundings and are suitable for observing active bird migration. The Delta de la Leyre also features a variety of landscapes: salt marshes, reed beds, pastureland, sandbanks and mudflats meet there, where fresh water and seawater come together.

Getting around

The entrance to the Réserve Ornithologique du Teich can be reached on foot from Le Teich SNCF railway station in 15 minutes. A 9-kilometre circular trail in the Delta de la Leyre follows the Leyre through gallery forest and then continues downstream through wetlands surrounded by marshland.

Les pistes de Robin are themed trails in Le Teich that can be explored on foot or by bicycle using games, puzzles and observation activities. From Le Teich, the Maison de la Nature du Bassin d’Arcachon (MNBA) organises guided group canoe trips on the Leyre with a nature guide.

The Baignade aménagée au Teich is a swimming area next to the harbour and the Réserve Ornithologique du Teich that is supervised in summer. There are picnic areas and play facilities for children nearby.

Culture

The Église Saint André du Teich houses a polychrome wooden statue of the pilgrim Saint James dating from the 17th century. The church building was constructed in 1923–1924 in the Romanesque Revival style.
