Culture and Architectural History
The Église Saint-Pierre in Gours dates mainly from the 12th century. Its apse and chancel termination reflect Romanesque ecclesiastical architecture in the Libournais. The church has been listed as a Monument historique since 21 November 1925.
Gours' small-scale architectural heritage includes five washhouses. The hamlet of Meillac, with its compact historic buildings, is also part of this architectural heritage. The La Ménardie manor house is likewise part of Gours' small-scale architectural heritage.
Nature and Landscape
The municipal area of Gours features different types of terrain in the south and north. The north encompasses a flat floodplain along the Isle, which gradually transitions into gently undulating terrain. North of the A89, Gours' floodplain encompasses the banks of the Isle, its flood zone and several bodies of water.
The landscape of Gours includes vineyards, meadows and forests. The Gours Natura 2000 site includes 28.4 hectares of natural habitats of European interest. Nine species of European interest have been designated for this Natura 2000 site.
Bodies of Water
The Étang de la Petite Font in Gours is a no-kill fishing water for carp. It is managed by the AAPPMA de la Perche de l’Isle.
The 40-hectare Domaine de la Bouage has ponds for anglers and their families.

The easy, 5.1 km circular hike “Gours et le Meillac” starts at the mairie car park.
