Nature

In the south of the municipality lies Parc Candau, a 3,200 m² green space that promotes biodiversity and is home to around fifteen trees, including an ageing stand of hornbeams. Plaine du Faisan also features a fitness trail and an orienteering course.

Culture

Église Saint-Paulin has stained-glass windows installed progressively between 1867 and 1890 in the choir, the nave, the gallery and near the baptismal fonts. They include works by three generations of master glassmakers from the Thibaud, Villiet and Dagrand families.

History

Église Saint-Paulin began as a chapel in 1849, became the parish church in 1852, and received its transept and sacristies in 1864. Moulin de Bellevue is shown on 18th-century maps and in the 1824 land register; apparently, it was the only windmill in the town of Carbon-Blanc.

Château Brignon, also known as Brugnon, is a former wine estate that emerged in the 16th century from the division of the Barony of Montferrand. The oldest low buildings of Château Brignon date from the 17th century, while the main residential building with its turret dates from the 18th century.

Events

The Making Of festival is a film festival focusing on the professions behind the scenes of filmmaking. Le Printemps de Carbon-Blanc is an event centred on nature and renewal. Les Théâtrales is an event dedicated to theatre in Carbon-Blanc, while Du rock mon pote is a rock festival organised by an association.

Getting there

Sainte-Eulalie–Carbon-Blanc railway station is served by TER trains towards Bordeaux Saint-Jean.
