The Château d’Arcins vineyard covers 101 hectares in one continuous area. Its history goes back a long way: Château d’Arcins has one of the first vineyards in the Haut-Médoc, developed in 1300 by the Knights Templar commandery.

Culture
The parish church of Notre-Dame d’Arcins was rebuilt from 1838 onwards; its main construction phase dates to 1840. The new parish of Notre-Dame d’Arcins was recognised by an ordinance dated 29 June 1841. The present church was built in the neoclassical style and has a single-nave layout and a barrel vault.
Wine
As part of the tour of Château Arnauld, visitors see a vineyard plot, the fermentation cellar and the completely renovated barrel cellar. The tour ends with a blind tasting of three wines: Comte d’Arnauld, Château Arnauld’s second wine, Château Arnauld as a “Cru bourgeois Exceptionnel”, and Collection d’Arnauld, which has been aged in centuries-old barrels.
Nature
The Marais d’Arcins-Soussans is a Natura 2000 site with wet meadows, ponds, woodland and reed beds. There are two hiking loops in the Marais d’Arcins-Soussans for walks in nature. The “Balade à roulettes: Le marais d’Arcins” is a 9.55-kilometre walking route rated “very easy” and taking 2 hours 30 minutes. On the route through the Marais d’Arcins-Soussans, you reach a lock where the ongoing regulation of water levels in the marshlands can be observed.
Getting Around
The BR4 Les Marais d’Arcins route can be started in the centre of Arcins or at Port d’Arcins. Port d’Arcins offers a view of the Gironde estuary. Traditional carrelets are a characteristic feature of the landscape at Port d’Arcins. The carrelets at Port d’Arcins are not open to visitors and can only be viewed from a distance. Île Verte lies directly opposite Arcins.
The “ARCINS EN MEDOC – BOURG” bus stop is served by bus routes 705 and 700.
