The Basilique Notre-Dame was built in the Gothic style between 1858 and 1860 and houses the Chapelle des Marins. The Ville d’Hiver covers 110 hectares and comprises an exceptional ensemble of villas from the 19th and early 20th centuries. Its winding streets are ideal for a walk through history.
At the Quai Patrimoine, visitors can walk along the waterfront and see traditional boats from the Bassin, including pinasses, loups and old sailing ships. One-hour guided tours of Bunker 502 are offered with a guide. They are available through the tourist office by reservation and according to the schedule.

The Parc Mauresque comprises a four-hectare arboretum with rare or exotic plants and trees, as well as a rose garden with almost 600 rose bushes. Guided birdwatching is offered in the Parc des Abatilles, focusing on birds in parks and gardens.
Plage Pereire has a pedestrian promenade more than 3 kilometres long, a cycle path, a landscaped seafront promenade, a pine grove and family-friendly recreational areas.
Plage des Arbousiers, a named beach, is located in the immediate vicinity of Arcachon. Plage des Américains, Plage de l’océan and Plage de la Torchère are also located around Arcachon; all three are named beaches.
