The parish and pilgrimage church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Gaas is at the heart of the village's history. It was built in 1155 and extended and remodelled in 1524. During renovation work, Romanesque architectural elements from a former castle chapel were repeatedly discovered. These are associated with Kertes Castle, first mentioned in 1221. This means that several historical layers can be encountered in one building, without the visit being limited to a single era.

Another notable sight is the listed Catholic branch church of St. Anne in the centre of Gaas. It was built as a chapel in 1739 and extended in 1892. The single-nave building has a recessed apse and a projecting eastern tower with an onion dome. Maria Weinberg and the Circular Trail

The Gaas–Maria Weinberg circular trail begins in the centre of Gaas and is approximately 7.80 km long. It passes the listed family chapel in Gaas-Weinberg. In Maria Weinberg, the cemetery chapel with an old charnel house from the 14th century and the Candle Chapel in the listed cemetery are also among the special destinations. The Candle Chapel houses an altar with a group depicting the Crucifixion from the 17th century; a bone chamber is located below the chapel.

The war memorial in the listed cemetery of Gaas-Maria Weinberg is also part of this historic setting. It commemorates those who fell in the First and Second World Wars and was produced in the workshop of Heinrich Czerny in Vienna. The memorial is located in the immediate vicinity of the parish and pilgrimage church of Maria Weinberg and the Candle Chapel.

Viticulture and Landscape

The vineyard in the Pinkatal valley is part of Gaas's character. Grosz Winery is located among the vineyards on the Weinberg hill of the village of Gaas and has cultivated approximately seven hectares of vineyards for three generations. The varieties grown are Welschriesling, Pinot Blanc, Uhudler, Zweigelt, Merlot, Blaufränkisch and Gewürztraminer Auslese. A free tasting of five wines is available year-round by telephone appointment. A pasture in Gaas is located in the Weinidylle Nature Park and complements the image of an area characterised by viticulture and open landscapes.
