Zeytinli: National Park Access, Stream Landscapes and Festival History
Accommodation in Zeytinli
Zeytinli is one of the gateways to Kazdağı National Park and is considered its most-used entrance. Activities in the park include hiking, mountaineering, nature sports, nature watching and photography. This means the natural setting ranges from active pursuits to taking a closer look at the landscape and plants. There are also streams and waterfalls nearby. These different aspects make Zeytinli an interesting place to look for a holiday rental if you think in advance about how you would like to connect with nature during your stay.
National Park, Valley and Trekking
Ayı Deresi is one of the more densely wooded areas of Zeytinli. Its valley location means that it is home to numerous tree species not found in other parts of Kazdağı. For visitors interested in plants, this variety of vegetation offers a distinct connection with nature when choosing experiences.
The route between Yayla Tepe and Ayı Deresi is a trekking route. It adds a specific route to the activities available in the national park. Nature watching and photography, in turn, offer different focuses from trekking or mountaineering. When planning your day, you can therefore decide whether you prefer a particular route or a broader range of activities.
Stream Landscapes Nearby
There are water attractions with different settings in the area around Zeytinli. Sütüven Çağlayanı waterfall is on the Kızılkeçili stream and can be reached via Zeytinli and Beyoba. A little beyond the waterfall is Hasan Boğuldu, a picnic area on the same stream. A natural rock formation there creates a pool; tables and seating are available. Check their condition before your visit.
Zeytinli Çay Bahçesi, a picnic and recreation area, lies on the banks of the Zeytinli stream. Their locations by different streams make it easy to distinguish the attractions: Çay Bahçesi is on the Zeytinli stream, while Sütüven Çağlayanı and Hasan Boğuldu are on the Kızılkeçili stream. This lets you include different stream landscapes when choosing your excursions.
Cycling Route, Festival History and Kite Flying
An August 2021 municipal activity report describes a cycling route from Zeytinli Mahallesi to the cycle path in Güre Mahallesi, running among olive trees. Check the route conditions and signage before using it.
The Zeytinli Rock Festival began during the time of Zeytinli Belediyesi, in the area then covered by the district, as a youth festival under the name “Zeytinli”. In later years, it was held in Mahalle Zeytinli under Edremit Municipality as part of an agreement between the municipality and a participating company.
In April 2026, the 26th traditional kite-flying event for the Zeytinli-Dalyan coast was announced. Free kites, games and shows were planned for children.
Choose the Right Focus for Your Holiday
When looking for a holiday rental in Zeytinli, you can weigh up your interests in nature: the national park offers various opportunities for activity and observation, Ayı Deresi is known for its variety of trees, and the nearby stream attractions offer waterfall and picnic settings.
