Holiday in Vietnam is becoming more popular. With the reduction of interest among the world tourist society to holidays in Thailand in connection with the government crisis, Vietnam seems to have managed to attract to their sights those who are accustomed to rest in South-East Asia.
Ministry of Planning and Investment of Vietnam has announced the data for May, according to which the growth of tourist flow into Vietnam reached about 50% compared to last year. The total number of tourists visiting the resorts of Vietnam is more than 440000 people.
The bulk of tourist traffic ensured China, Thailand, Australia, South Korea and Malaysia. Among the European countries the greatest interest to Vietnam showed tourists from France. Either way, the basis of growth was provided by Chinese tourists. They arrived in Vietnam with 111% increase compared with May 2009.
As for the statistics from the beginning of the year, according to the Ministry for five months in 2010 in Vietnam came about 2.2 million foreign tourists. This is a 37% increase over the same period last year. It is worth noting that more than half of tourists visited the capital of Vietnam Ho Chi Minh City. Here since the beginning of the year arrived about 1.3 million tourists.
Vietnam strives to gain a position of one of the major regions for recreation in Asia. To reach this goal the country developed a range of different activities aimed at attracting tourists. For example, Khan Hoa Province, on which territory is located the historic city of Dalat, and part of the Spratly Islands archipelago, has developed a special program that should help the region to reduce the cost of entertainment and tickets for 30-50%. In addition, this year for Vietnam was the year of a number of high-profile tourism events, including the celebration of the Millennium of Hanoi, Week of Ethnic Culture in the province of Thai Nguyen and the Lotus Village Festival.
