Jundiaí – Nature, Railway History and Wine Culture
Accommodation in Jundiaí
Jundiaí offers a range of themes for a trip: Serra do Japi is known for its forests, flora and fauna, while museums, art and the Festa da Uva offer insights into history and traditions. You can therefore decide whether nature experiences or cultural discoveries should be the focus of your stay—or whether both fit your travel plans.
Forests and trails in Serra do Japi
Serra do Japi has well-preserved forests and abundant flora and fauna, and is designated a biosphere reserve. Its natural features also include hiking trails, springs, cascades and viewpoints. The landscape offers a variety of things to explore: those who enjoy walking can make the trails a focus of their vacation, while the springs, waterfalls and viewpoints offer other highlights.
Railway and city history
The Museu dos Ferroviários explores railway history through themed displays. Exhibits include documents, photographs, newspapers and objects such as locomotive models, suitcases, ticket machines and station furniture. There is also a working model on display. The museum is open Tuesday to Sunday and on public holidays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is closed on Mondays for general maintenance and cleaning.
The Museu Histórico e Cultural de Jundiaí – Solar do Barão offers another historical perspective. Visitors can see a permanent exhibition about the building, the Barão de Jundiaí and the Fratelanza Italiana. The Solar also has a garden fully shaded by trees, which visitors can use to relax, read and enjoy leisure time. The exhibition and garden offer different ways to spend time there: inside, the focus is on the history of the house and the topics mentioned; outside, the garden provides space for a break or a quiet activity.
Art and wine traditions
The Pinacoteca Municipal Diógenes Duarte Paes, located in the Centro Jundiaiense de Cultura, houses 189 works, including 15 sculptures. The collection features artists from Jundiaí as well as Brazilian and international artists. The building itself is also part of the Pinacoteca’s history: located on Rua Barão de Jundiaí, it is over 100 years old and was designed by architect Ramos de Azevedo.
The Festa da Uva brings together the theme of wine and a local tradition. It offers a range of attractions every year. At the Pisa da Uva, everyone is invited to dance on grapes in vats; the activity represents traditional winemaking customs. The first Festa da Uva was held in 1934 in the Traviú neighborhood and welcomed more than 100,000 visitors in its first edition. This historical figure refers to the first edition; the annual attractions and the attendance at the time are distinct aspects of the festival’s history.
The Villa Brunholi complex includes a wine-making facility, a wine cellar, a restaurant, a wine museum and a mini-farm.
When choosing your holiday rental, you can focus on the experiences that matter to you during your stay: nature and hiking trails, railway and city history, art or wine traditions.
