Divinolândia lies in the Serra da Mantiqueira, surrounded by mountains, coffee plantations and extensive areas of pristine forest. A prominent landmark is Morro do Canelá in the Campo Redondo district: at 1,490 metres above sea level, it is the municipality’s highest point. Morro da Torre stands at 1,380 metres. Distinctive elevations are therefore part of the landscape, alongside coffee plantations and forested areas.

Experience waterfalls and nature

At Cachoeira Marcílio Grespan, crystal-clear water flows over a rock face, forming small islands, pools and lakes; the waterfall is about 20 metres high. The site also gives visitors a chance to connect directly with the local flora and fauna. This makes it a distinct nature-focused option for your trip, alongside the mountains and coffee plantations. If you would like to include a nature experience in your holiday, you can make these landscape impressions a focal point without conflating them with the cycling routes or religious visits.

Cycling routes with varying levels of difficulty

Mountain biking enthusiasts can choose from three cycling routes, with specific details on distance and elevation gain. The Cachoeira Marcílio Grespan route is 51.05 kilometres long, with 1,628 metres of climbing. The Rota Pontal covers 40.2 kilometres and has 1,376 metres of elevation gain. The shorter Rota Igreja Ecológica São Francisco is 16.53 kilometres long, with 529 metres of climbing; it is suitable for beginners. The figures make it easy to compare the three routes: you can consider both distance and climbing when choosing a ride. The “Ao Ciclista” monument was designed to reflect Divinolândia’s potential for mountain biking tourism.

The Caminho da Fé also passes through Divinolândia. You can walk it for religious, sporting, tourist or meditative reasons. This offers another way to tailor your trip to your interests, in addition to the designated cycling routes. Travellers who mainly plan to explore cycling routes or the Caminho da Fé will have different priorities from those who want to focus on waterfalls, forest and mountains.

Religious sites and local life

Masses at Igreja do Divino Espírito Santo are held on Wednesdays at 15:00, Saturdays at 19:00, and Sundays at 08:00, 10:00 and 18:00. A mass is held at Capela Santa Cruz in May; other religious activities are scheduled sporadically, without a fixed programme. Capela Santa Cruz can be visited. Pão de queijo doce is considered a typical product of the municipality, adding a local culinary speciality to its nature and cultural experiences.
