Thermal waters, distinctive architecture, and experiences in nature give Águas De São Pedro its unmistakable character. Depending on whether you are interested in springs, pilgrimage routes, outdoor activities, or the town’s history, you can tailor your stay to different interests. When searching for a vacation rental, you can also consider which of these aspects you particularly want to explore while you are there.

Springs and thermal baths

The Fontanário comprises three springs with healing waters: Fonte da Juventude, Fonte Gioconda, and Fonte Almeida Salles. Their names help you tell the springs apart when learning about the thermal waters of Águas De São Pedro. Different from these springs is the public SPA Thermal Dr. Octávio Moura de Andrade: visitors can take baths there every day using water from the Água da Juventude spring, as well as enjoy other services on offer. The Spa Thermal also has a full sauna. If thermal waters are of particular interest to you, you’ll find several specific places to visit, each with its own role in the town.

Architecture and pilgrimage traditions

The Igreja Matriz da Imaculada Conceição is a modern-style building. It stands on a cross-shaped square, with a lit fountain at its center. The Capela Nossa Senhora Aparecida has a different historical connection: the founder of the Estância, Dr. Octávio Moura Andrade, had it built in 1946 at the highest point in the city, at an elevation of 612 meters. The Caminho do Sol ends at the Casa de Santiago, which also houses an image of the Apostle James.

The Caminho do Sol begins in Santana de Parnaíba, passes through 12 cities, and reaches Águas De São Pedro. It was created for walkers and runs almost entirely through rural areas. If you are interested in pilgrimage routes, you can factor both the route to the destination and the special role of the Casa de Santiago into your travel plans. The Quiosque do Borboleta preserves another piece of local history: it is the only surviving example of several kiosks built in the 1940s by craftsman José Martins, known as “Borboleta,” on behalf of Dr. Octávio Moura Andrade.

Green spaces, activities, and discoveries

The Mini-Horto brings together kiosks, trees, lakes, and a greenhouse for growing plants; it is home to 5,000 seedlings. Different activities take center stage in the Bosque Municipal: the woods are used for walking and horseback riding, as well as for trips on the tourist train and in the carriage. If you’d rather spend your time being active outdoors, Águas De São Pedro also has a cycling path, the Ciclovia, offering space for daily activities on foot and by bicycle. The Ciclovia/Mirante includes a viewpoint for taking in the scenery and relaxing.

Águas Bike rents out tricycles and bicycles for sports and leisure activities. This gives you a range of ways to spend the day—from observing and photographing wildlife to getting around on foot or on wheels.

Tailor your stay to your interests

The Trenzinho City Tour is designed as a self-guided sightseeing tour for adults and children. It provides information about the history and sights of Águas De São Pedro and departs from outside the Central de Informações Turísticas. It offers a distinct way to get to know the town, while the forest trails and birdwatching provide different experiences. When planning your trip, you can first decide whether thermal waters, culture, wildlife observation, or outdoor activities are your priority. You can then look for a vacation rental in Águas De São Pedro for a stay in a town whose experiences match your planned focus.
