Navegantes combines an approximately 12-kilometre coastline with religious sites and nature experiences. This makes the town interesting for travellers who want to discover more than just one side of their holiday destination. When choosing a holiday rental, it may therefore help to start by asking which experiences you would like to shape your stay: coastal scenery, religious history or discoveries in nature.

Coast and different holiday ideas

The coastline of Navegantes is divided into Praia Central, Meia Praia, Praia do Pontal and Gravatá. Its length is approximately 12 kilometres, so this should be understood as an estimate. These four names give you a concrete point of reference when exploring the town’s coastal areas. If you want to make the coast the focus of your trip, you can take these areas into account when considering which part of Navegantes to look for accommodation in.

Places of faith and fishing history

The Santuário de Nossa Senhora dos Navegantes welcomes thousands of devout visitors over the course of the year. Next to the Santuário stands the Barco Temático: a full-size replica of a fishing boat. The boat symbolises Navegantes’ fishing tradition and one of the municipality’s most important economic foundations. This site brings together religious significance and a striking symbol of local history.

The Memorial Nossa Senhora dos Navegantes is also located next to the Barco. There, you can see objects from the history of the Santuário, as well as an image of Nossa Senhora dos Navegantes, the city’s patron saint. If you are particularly interested in religious history and local traditions, you can consider the Santuário, Barco and Memorial as different aspects of a visit. These themes may be more important in shaping the character of your trip than the coast alone.

Discover nature: a spring and birdsong

Gruta Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe is located in Parque Natural Municipal de Navegantes, in the Bairro Pedreiras. The grotto contains an altar with religious images and a natural spring with clean water. The site thus combines nature and religious design. For your travel plans, this offers a different kind of nature experience from the coast: here, the focus is on the grotto, the altar and the spring.

The Trilha Interativa Avifauna in Parque das Pedreiras features 49 bird species. Visitors can listen to their calls using QR codes. This gives a walk there a clear theme: you can not only view the species on display, but also listen to their calls.

High point and connection to Itajaí

At 350 metres above sea level, Morro da Pedra in the Bairro Escalvados is the highest point in Navegantes. This precise elevation distinguishes it as a geographical landmark from the coastline. Instead, Morro adds to the picture of a place whose features include both a coastline and a clearly identified high point.

A ferry terminal for the crossing from Navegantes to Itajaí is located at Praça Nossa Senhora dos Navegantes. If you are including both places in your travel plans, this ferry connection is a useful point of reference.

You can look for a holiday rental in Navegantes based on your own holiday interests, without letting any one experience define the character of the entire trip.
