Bombinhas
Accommodation in Bombinhas
With 39 beaches, Bombinhas offers a wide variety: these include coves with calm waters, beaches with rough seas, and secluded beaches. Access also varies. Some beaches can only be reached by hiking trails or by sea. When planning a trip, you can first consider which beach atmosphere and type of access best suit your preferences.
Beaches and trails with different types of access
The Passarela do Ribeiro connects Praia de Bombas and Praia de Bombinhas via Praia do Ribeiro. The walkway is approximately 800 meters long, illuminated, and equipped with benches for resting. It offers visitors greater safety and accessibility. This makes it another way to connect the aforementioned beaches, distinct from a hiking trail or the sea route used to reach some beaches.
Another destination is Praia da Galheta, located within Parque Natural Municipal da Galheta. The beach is approximately 105 meters long and can be reached by hiking trail or by sea. If you include this beach in your travel plans, you can choose between two types of access. Its location within the nature park and its modest length set it apart from the longer Passarela do Ribeiro.
Two hikes, two levels of difficulty
The Trilha do Morro do Macaco is approximately 2.4 kilometers long, round trip. The hike takes about 1.5 hours and is moderately difficult. The summit of Morro do Macaco is 191 meters high. The distance, approximate duration, and difficulty level give you concrete points of reference if you would like to combine a shorter hike with a summit destination.
The Trilha da Galheta is rated differently: it starts at the rocky shore on the left side of Praia de Bombas. The approximate round-trip distance is 3,676 meters, and the difficulty ranges from moderate to challenging. The average duration is 3 to 5 hours. Compared with the Trilha do Morro do Macaco, it is the longer of the two hikes described. These differences can help you tailor your hiking plans to your preferred distance and level of challenge.
Local culture and a traditional drink
At the Museu Comunitário Engenho do Sertão, visitors can try Consertada. This traditional drink is made with cachaça, coffee, and spices; it is considered part of the cultural heritage of the municipality of Bombinhas. Public visits to the museum are possible by appointment in advance. If you plan to visit the museum, arranging an appointment should therefore be part of your preparations. The visit combines an insight into local culture with the opportunity to discover a drink that is part of the municipality.
