In Vicente López Partido, riverside landscapes, green spaces, and cultural sites offer different sides to a stay on the Río de la Plata. A municipal walking tour, a wetland with opportunities for birdwatching, and museums dedicated to local and Argentine history each provide a distinct focus. When choosing your vacation rental, consider which of these discoveries you want to shape your stay.

Riverside, walking tour, and natural areas

The partido borders the Río de la Plata to the east and the city of Buenos Aires to the south. The Del Río municipal walking tour runs from east to west through Vicente López and ends at the Reserva Ecológica. Its stops and themes include the riverside, dining options, various activities for families, and the façade of the presidential residence in Olivos.

Those especially interested in riverside nature will find several distinct landscape features. Parque Natural La Lucila lies along the river between San Lorenzo and Roma streets. Access is via Paseo del Viento from Borges Street. At the southeastern edge of the partido, on the border with the city of Buenos Aires, lies Arroyo Raggio. It is one of the last largely wild remnants of the Vicente López waterfront and is among the areas least altered by landfilling.

Nodo Lavalle is a wetland at the former mouth of the Lavalle relief canal. Boardwalks and viewpoints offer opportunities for birdwatching, among other things. La Lucila is also home to Parque Paraná: As part of the redevelopment of 14,400 m² of coastal land, walkways, a bicycle path, and boardwalks were created there. The park also has native plants, playgrounds, restrooms, and parking spaces. These details can help you decide between a nature-focused visit and a park visit with a range of amenities.

History, museums, and notable buildings

The Museo y Archivo Documental de Vicente López preserves, researches, and presents the history of the partido. The Museo Lumiton focuses on the history of Lumiton and the Estudios Cinematográficos Lumiton: the museum preserves and displays related materials. A permanent exhibition is dedicated to the history of Lumiton; the screening room hosts film series, gatherings, and forums. This offers a distinct theme for travelers interested in film history.

Buildings and historic sites also shape the cultural landscape. The main building of the Museo de la Fundación Rómulo Raggio is a French Neoclassical palace dating from 1930. It stands on a site of more than 3,000 m² in the partido and has been declared a municipally significant building. Quinta Trabucco was built in 1900 and donated by the family to the municipality of Vicente López. Torre de la Independencia, commonly known as Torre Ader, is a 42.30-meter-high historic monument. Its height offers sweeping panoramic views of the Río de la Plata and the surrounding municipalities.

Planning for different travel interests

For educational institutions at all levels, the Reserva Ecológica offers free interpretive tours led by park rangers, covering environmental education, native biodiversity, and appreciation of local ecosystems. Tours take place Tuesday through Friday at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. by prior appointment; the season runs from March to November. Depending on the tour, the maximum group size is 30 or 45 people. Teachers or other responsible adults must accompany the group throughout the activity.

Rail connections can also help with getting around: the Ferrocarril Belgrano Norte, Mitre, and Tren de la Costa lines reach and run through the partido. When choosing a vacation rental, focus on the experiences that matter to you and consider the accommodation’s location and your planned routes, rather than inferring specific distances from the regional information. The locality of Florida is also part of the partido.
