La Reja offers different ways to experience nature and culture: you can include walking trails and water in your plans, alongside art history and the tradition of the bandoneón. If you are travelling with children, you can use your family’s interests as a starting point for planning each day. When choosing a holiday rental, a simple question can help: during your stay, would you rather focus on nature, a visit to the water, or a cultural theme?

Nature Trails and Time by the Water

At the Área Natural Protegida Dique Ing. Roggero – Reserva Municipal Los Robles, there is a visitor centre with guided tours led by park rangers. Interpretive trails and signage are also part of this natural area. The trails and their explanations offer a distinctive way to experience the surroundings; if you prefer to explore with a guide, you can consider the guided tours as an alternative. Nature experiences therefore vary according to the format you prefer, without needing to infer a particular route length or walking time.

Another way to plan time outdoors is to visit the lakeside promenade at Lago San Francisco. From there, you can watch the sunset. If water and nature are important to your trip, these different experiences can help shape your choice of a suitable holiday rental.

Relaxation, Food and Activities

The recreation area at Los Robles includes a campsite, cabins and bicycle rental. You can consider these as options in their own right when planning your trip, alongside looking for a holiday rental. The Patio Gastronómico at Los Robles offers a range of food options and live events. Food and events thus add a distinctly different travel focus to the nature-related activities.

Art and the Bandoneón in La Reja

With the Casa Museo Rancho Los Estribos, La Reja is also connected to the history of Florencio Molina Campos and Elvira Ponce: the museum is their historic home. It is located on López Buchardo and El Maestro, on the banks of the Río Reconquista. Visitors can see the very space where Molina Campos lived and worked. This tangible connection to a place makes a visit to the museum a vivid encounter with his history.

The Museo del Bandoneón Mariani also focuses on a distinctive cultural subject: the work and legacy of the Mariani family. La Reja is known as the “Ciudad del Bandoneón”. Those interested in music history will find a separate focus here alongside a visit to the Casa Museo. The two museums offer different points of connection to art and cultural heritage when planning your trip.

Routes and Directions

The municipal ecotourism programme included a route held on Wednesdays, open to the general public and requiring advance registration. It began at the Estación Ambiental de La Reja with a visit to megafauna sculptures and works by Luis “Coco” Mariani. For this activity, both registration and the specific starting point were part of the planning. The route offers another way to explore the region’s themes, distinct from museum visits and nature trails.

From Moreno or Luján, the described route goes along Ruta 7 to La Reja railway station. It then continues along Rubén Darío to Avenida de la Argentinidad and Benito Juárez. For more local pages, you can also explore Moreno and Francisco Alvarez.
