Teulada gótica amurallada is designated as an Asset of Cultural Interest (Bien de Interés Cultural, BIC) in the category of Historic Ensemble. For planning your own trip, you can consider the four perspectives of architecture, landscape, trails and festivals separately. Cultural sites, protected nature, routes and seasonal events each offer different focal points.

Culture and History

At the heart of Teulada stands the Iglesia Parroquial de Santa Catalina Mártir. It dates from the late 16th century. As a fortified church, it offered the Moriscos refuge.

La Vila is a historic, walled settlement with a regular layout adapted to the topography of its hill. The Teulada gótica amurallada ensemble was built from Tosca stone and preserves original architectural elements such as arches and barrel vaults.

The Ecomuseo L'ALMASSERA is housed in a former oil mill and wine press. It is part of the Centre Ecomuseogràfic, which aims to revive traditional trades and skills. At the Ecomuseo, audiovisual projections illustrate the production process. The Sala de Jurats i Justícies houses the Centre d’estudis Vicentins. Its façade features a sundial dating from 1639. The Sala de Jurats i Justícies is also a stop on the Ruta Vicentina.

Religious history, historic settlement structure and traditional production can thus be understood as distinct cultural focal points.

Landscape

The Vall de les Sorts, a protected landscape, lies within areas belonging to the municipality of Teulada. The protected area of Les Sorts covers approximately 100 hectares and is characterised by the contrast between a valley with a flat valley floor and the surrounding undulating terrain.

Trails and Pilgrimage

Halfway between Teulada and Moraira lies the Ermita de la Font Santa. It is a pilgrimage site. The Ermita houses a spring which, according to popular tradition, sprang forth through a saint.

A signposted route leads from Teulada to Benimarco. The Font de l'Horta, a spring with two outlets, lies along the route. The Creueta de l'Ave María is the first stop for hikers on the route. Information about waypoints and distances can be considered, for personal planning, as a separate source of orientation alongside the cultural sites.

When comparing a holiday apartment in Teulada, you can compare travel dates, room category and cancellation conditions on the respective offer pages. The travel period and the conditions of an offer can be assessed separately.
