Quatretondeta lies at the foot of the Serrella, between olive and almond groves and the limestone cliffs of the Serrella. The rock formations known as Frares or Frailes are located in the Sierra de la Serrella, are visible from the town centre and form part of the karst landscape.

When booking a holiday apartment in Quatretondeta, travel dates, room category and cancellation conditions provide the practical framework. Mountain paths and rock formations, sacred architectural history, rest stops, and regional dishes and tastings offer different thematic focuses that can be considered side by side when planning a trip.

Nature and Trails

The PR-CV 24 hiking trail begins at Avda. del País Valencià in Cuatretondeta. It runs at the foot of Els Frares, spectacular rocky peaks, through the Sierra de la Serrella and reaches the Pla de la Casa at an altitude of 1,371 m; from there, it offers views of the Sierra de Aitana and the Aixortà.

Cova Foradada can be visited via the route through Les Agulles. The Sender de les Agulles de la Serrella begins on a paved track that climbs uphill to the right of the Barranco de Figuerets. Those wishing to organise the trails for their own daily itinerary can consider the elevation destination, views and cave route as separate focuses. This results in two distinguishable trail profiles for daily planning: one focus is on the ascent to the Pla de la Casa and the views across the surrounding sierras, while the other is on access to Cova Foradada via Les Agulles. The elevation destination, views and cave route can thus be given separate weighting.

The Carrasca de la Tía Sofía is a large holm oak estimated to be more than 250 years old.

Culture

The parish church of Santa Ana was built between the 18th and 19th centuries. The restored Lavadero building offers hikers an opportunity for a short rest. At the Fuente de la Viñeta, there is cold water and a place where meat can be cooked over hot coals. The church, rest stop and the site at the Fuente de la Viñeta each provide a distinct local point of interest.

Cuisine and Wine

In Cuatretondeta, you can try traditional dishes such as arroz al horno, olleta and the typical tapas of Alicante's mountain region. The agrotourism and wine-tourism experience in La Vall de Seta leads from Cuatretondeta to the neighbouring village of Benimassot. There, under the “Olivera de les quatre soques”, it includes a masterclass for tasting local olive oils. As part of the same experience, the three best wines are tasted together with local products such as mature cheese, Pericana and Escarraet. Dishes, olive oils, wines and local products thus represent different culinary aspects alongside the trails.
