History
At Mil Palmeras Beach, the Roman quarries form a 60-metre-long archaeological site made of calcarenite. The Romans extracted large blocks of stone from these quarries. The site thus adds a clearly identified historical place made of calcarenite to the landscape by the beach.
Mil Palmeras also combines different seasonal periods: in summer, an evening craft market takes place on the promenade beside the beach and continues until after midnight. During the winter season, Hibernis Mare was held on the municipality’s beaches, particularly at Mil Palmeras Beach, as a family-oriented leisure and health programme. Hibernis Mare activities in Mil Palmeras included Tri-Yoga, Aerobox C.K.B., yoga and hypopressives, introductory paddleboarding courses, Latin American dancing, beach rugby and Zumba. This places a summer evening market and a former winter programme side by side as different seasonal references. The activities range from yoga and health to dance, paddleboarding and beach rugby.
