Hermosa: Indian Houses and the Way to Valdecilla
Accommodation in Hermosa
In Hermosa, at the entrance to the village when coming from Valdecilla, in the Barrio San Martín, there is a large cube-shaped house built in 1876 by an Indian family; the initials CGP are displayed on the gate. The Indian house has four storeys and is in a state of disrepair. On the third floor there is a continuous wrought-iron balcony; dressed stone was used at the corners of the building and at the entrance. If you read architecture attentively, you can examine such details at your own pace and distinguish between design, material, and lettering.

Culture
In the Barrio Riogarcía is Casa de los Torriente, an Indian house built by the Torriente family in the second half of the 19th century. Casa de los Torriente has a square floor plan and a hipped roof. The building is privately owned; the exterior areas can be visited. You can consider the period of construction and the visible design as two separate approaches to architectural history, without having to connect the individual impressions into a fixed sequence.
The church is a 17th-century building. It has a single-nave layout with chapels between the buttresses and a 19th-century portico. When viewing historic architecture, the building's age, spatial arrangement, and individual architectural elements can be perceived independently of one another.
