Nature and geology
As a geological site, Port D'addaia is a narrow bay carved out at the contact between sedimentary rocks from the Triassic and Jurassic periods. As a result, the focus is not only on the water itself, but also on the geological structure of the site. To fully identify the geological formations, visiting by boat is recommended.
Water
A maritime route runs through the S'Albufera des Grau Nature Park from Platja des Grau beach to Port D'addaia. It is designed for kayaks or other small boats that can reach the shore. One variant of this maritime route begins and ends in Port D'addaia or Na Macaret and leads from there to Cala en Brut.
Paths
The geological site of Port D'addaia can also be reached from the Camí de Cavalls. This requires a detour to Arenal de Mongofra followed by a coastal path from the beach. A 13.5-kilometre section of the Camí de Cavalls leads to Port D'addaia. The Favàritx–Arenal d'en Castell stage also leads to the significant water area of Port D'addaia.
The Salines d'Addaia are located nearby; they were created in the 19th century and lie within the S'Albufera des Grau Nature Park. They are considered the best area in Menorca for observing species associated with salty habitats. The birdwatching route to the Salines d'Addaia is 1.3 kilometres long, has a low level of difficulty and takes approximately 60 minutes on foot for the return journey.
Culture
At the entrance to Port D'addaia, the Torre d'Addaia can still be seen from the road opposite. The Castell Torre d'Addaia was declared a cultural asset on 30 November 1993. The Torre d'Addaia is privately owned.
Harbour and boats
Although Port D'addaia has only a shallow draught, it is accessible to pleasure craft. On the southern side of Port D'addaia, there is a quay with berths for pleasure craft, as well as a facility for their storage and maintenance. A trip on a rigid inflatable motorboat is offered from Port D'addaia. Boat hire without a compulsory licence is also available from Port D'addaia.
