A visit to La Caridad can begin with culture: the Museo de la Forja is located in the centre of A Caridá (La Caridad), in the Casa de Arte Mohíces. There, it displays iron furniture and household objects handcrafted by Ángel Fernández López in his forge.

To compare holiday apartments in La Caridad, you can check travel dates, room category and cancellation conditions side by side on the respective offer page. You can compare this information with your own travel plans and the desired focus between culture, pilgrimage route, nature and short distances.

Culture and architectural history

The Belén Popular Asturiano is also considered a small ethnographic museum, where traditional occupations such as fulling mill workers, weavers, millers, knife grinders and potters can be seen. Outside the months of December and January, an appointment must be arranged with the town hall or tourist office for a visit.

The Iglesia de San Miguel de Mohices de la Caridad has a bell tower with a small dome and a pinnacle set above it. Its construction was planned in several phases during the 18th century. The old church is connected to the present church and is now used as a parish hall. The church is listed in the inventory of Asturias's architectural heritage.

The Complejo Cultural As Quintas, also called Casa Pastur and Casa das Quintas, is a centuries-old traditional-architecture building with a slate roof, stone elements, small windows, a cabazo, a hayloft and a bodega with an oven. It is designed as a visitor reception centre for the municipality; the preserved traditional bodega with oven and the well can be visited there. Casa Alvarín is also included in the inventory of houses forming part of the architectural heritage of the Principality of Asturias.
