Leiguarda: Circular Routes, Cultural Heritage and Blueberry Cultivation
Accommodation in Leiguarda
Routes through Leiguarda
Leiguarda combines several types of routes with historical traces and rural settings. The Ruta La Viña is a circular route connecting Silviella, Lleiguarda and Beyu. It runs along a forest track with some considerable gradients; sections of the original stone paving have been preserved. A hike therefore includes both the circular course and changing trail conditions.
The Ruta Alto La Brueba – Oviñana (PR.AS-146) runs through Lleiguarda and Beyu to the AS-227 near the Parador de Silviella and continues to La Brueba. Along the route, visible traces of Roman gold mining remain preserved in and recognisable across the landscape. The route therefore connects named stages with a historical testimony that remains visible in the landscape. Both hiking routes run through Lleiguarda and Beyu, but their further courses differ: the PR.AS-146 extends to La Brueba, while Ruta La Viña includes Silviella.
Cycling Route and Access
BTT Route 1 “San Bartolomé” is a mountain bike route. It leads from Beyu via a road and a concrete track to Lleiguarda. The Ruta La Viña and the BTT route therefore differ directly in their route type: here, a circular route with a forest track, gradients and preserved stone paving is contrasted with a mountain bike route using a road and a concrete track.
A local road branches off from the AS-227 and provides access to Leiguarda near Fontoria. The PR.AS-146 reaches the AS-227 near the Parador de Silviella as part of its route. For routes that run along roads, concrete tracks or forest tracks, current route conditions should be checked before setting out.
