Discover Veľké Bierovce: Culture on the Váh

In the centre of Veľké Bierovce, in a small park north of and above the Church of St Vendelín, stands the Evangelical bell tower “Zvonica evanielická”, which can be visited. The building dates from the early 19th century and is registered as a listed national cultural monument.

Culture

The Church of St Vendelín was rebuilt and modernised in 1944–1945 according to a design by the architect Š. Paulík. Of its original Baroque furnishings, it preserves a Rococo pulpit. Historical points of interest can thus be combined with different periods and forms of design, without this implying a fixed tour.

Nature and activity

The Váh and its diversion canal, as well as the Soblahovský potok and the Turňanský potok, flow through the cadastral area of Veľké Bierovce. The Vážska cyklomagistrála also runs through the cadastral area. Field and farm tracks along the Váh are used by cyclists and runners. For planning your day, the cycle connection, the paths along the river and running can be considered as different forms of activity alongside one another. Those looking for different focuses can consider exercise by the water and cultural discoveries separately.
