At Kremenec, the borders of Slovakia, Poland, and Ukraine meet. The cross-border route Veľká Ravka–Kremenec–Nová Sedlica and the cross-border route Wetlina–Riaba skala–Runina were established in 2013. Renting a holiday apartment in Snina District can form part of your personal travel planning.
Nature
The Stužica National Nature Reserve is located in the cadastral area of Nová Sedlica and preserves extensive areas of primeval forest with a structure resembling virgin forest. Bears, wolves, and European bison live there permanently. Rare animal species occur in the protected area around Sninský kameň.
Mount Patria is located in the vicinity of Snina District. The mountains Vysoký, Čerbania, and Ščob are also located in the vicinity of Snina District. The ruin of Jasenov Castle lies in the wider regional surroundings of Snina District.
Hiking and Trails
The Zemplínske Hámre Tourist Information Centre provides information about hiking and cycling trails as well as Poloniny National Park. It is located near the quarry at the beginning of the main trails to Sninský kameň and Vihorlat; a free car park is available there for visitors.
The hiking trail from Zemplínske Hámre to Sninský kameň begins at the car park by the quarry and follows a yellow-marked hiking trail to the Tri tably saddle. From the Tri tably saddle, a red-marked hiking trail leads to the summit plateaus of Sninský kameň; both plateaus can be reached via iron ladders.
Ranč pod Sninským kameňom offers horse-riding activities for all ages and experience levels, including rides along forest paths and through meadows with views of the Vihorlat Mountains.
Culture and History
The Múzeum Zemplínske Hámre presents two permanent exhibitions: one on the history of mining and iron processing in the Vihorlat Mountains, and an ethnographic exhibition on the folk architecture, agriculture, crafts, and folk costumes of the inhabitants of the Josefsthal settlement. The museum is located in the oldest building in the municipality, a stone building from the early 19th century that originally served as accommodation for the management of the ironworks.
Sninský kaštieľ offers a cultural programme with exhibitions, concerts, and other events, as well as a permanent exhibition on the art and history of the region. The Classicist kaštieľ in Snina was completed by Jozef Rholl in 1800.
A bell tower dating from the second half of the 17th century stands beside the church in Topoľa. The iconostasis dates from the mid-18th century and includes several icons from the 17th century. The church in Uličské Krivé has a Baroque iconostasis from the 18th century; some icons date from the 16th century.

The Sninské Rybníky–Zemplínske Hámre cycling route runs along Carpathian Long-Distance Cycle Route 016 through the Vihorlat Mountains. At the Čierťaže signposting, this cycling route connects to the yellow-marked cycling route 8903.
