Chernogubovo: Riverside Location and Festival History
Accommodation in Chernogubovo
Chernogubovo lies on the Tvertsa and combines this geographical setting with a specific cultural aspect: the ARTCHERNOGUBOVO 2025 festival.
Riverside Location and Choosing a Place to Stay
The Tvertsa is a clear reference point when locating Chernogubovo geographically. When choosing a holiday apartment, you can consider the character of the place alongside your cultural interests: the riverside location describes where the place lies; the festival history gives you a time-limited glimpse of a cultural programme. These are different perspectives on the destination, each answering a different question.
The ARTCHERNOGUBOVO 2025 Festival
The two-day festival took place on 26 and 27 July 2025 in the village of Chernogubovo, in Kalininsky District of Tver Oblast. Dance, jazz, rock music, yoga, fashion and theatre were on the programme at the Chernogubovo art venue. There were also contributions from artists and poets, as well as talks, guided tours, workshops and an open mic.
This edition thus combined music and performing arts with other formats: talks and guided tours complemented the programme, while yoga and workshops offered different highlights. The festival should be understood as a specific edition from 2025. When planning your trip, you can regard the 2025 edition as a cultural glimpse of the place; its location on the Tvertsa remains a separate geographical reference.
More Nature and Culture in Tver Oblast
At the broader destination level of Tver Oblast, the Central Forest Reserve offers a distinct focus on nature and landscape. Guided tours are available on the ecological trails “Tainy Okovskogo lesa” and “Lesnaya azbuka”. The “Boloto Staroselskiy mokh” educational trail passes through a picturesque raised bog with wide, open expanses completely covered in moss, as well as unusual plants. Visitors use their own vehicles for an excursion to the “Staroselskiy mokh” raised bog.
The hike to the “Barsuchikha” cordon also offers two different tour options: it can be taken as a one-day tour or with an overnight stay in a forest cabin. Along the way, you can see southern taiga forest and a raised bog. In Tver Oblast, a day hike and an overnight option thus sit alongside different ways to experience forest and bog landscapes.
The reserve’s central estate is home to a nature museum and a visitor centre. The museum showcases the protected area’s main ecosystems and the species that live there; one room is dedicated to scientific research. The visitor centre provides information about the organisation’s history and structure and includes a regular exhibition of children’s artwork as well as a souvenir shop. These offerings combine nature-related topics with insights into the work of the reserve.
Another cultural highlight in Tver Oblast is in Torzhok. The Verkhnee gorodishche archaeological monument is located in the city’s historic centre and is of federal significance as well as being a tourist attraction. The “Blin s Pripyokom” and “Kuzminki v Torzhke” festivals are held annually at the Novotorzhskiy kreml. The Novotorzhskiy Borisoglebskiy monastyr in Torzhok was founded in 1038 and is one of Russia’s oldest Orthodox monasteries.
