Flower beds and paths in Central Park, two bodies of water in Natashinsky Park, a distinctive church dome and collections of objects spanning several centuries give Lyubertsy a varied character. The city can be explored through a wide range of interests: relaxing in a park, architecture and history, or activities and theatre.

Parks and the History of Natashino

Central Park of Culture and Recreation has flower beds and paths; in summer, recurring cultural and recreational programmes are held there. Check the dates before your visit. Natashinsky Park is a recreation area with two bodies of water. The parks therefore have different focuses: Central Park features landscaped grounds and seasonal programmes, while Natashinsky Park brings together recreation and water. The settlement of Natashino is also connected with the park: it grew up around it, and its name comes from the daughter of entrepreneur Evgeny Skalsky.

Architecture, City History and Collections

The Transfiguration Church stands out for its tall, unadorned structure. A drum supports the Russian helmet-shaped dome, bridging the simple structure and the distinctive roofline. Architecture enthusiasts can see how different forms work together in a compact space in this building.

The exhibition «Lyubertsy – dalyokoye i blizkoye» tells the four-hundred-year history of the city. It features ethnographic and archaeological materials, as well as furniture, jewellery and clothing from different periods. The collection «Lyuberetskiy Ermitazh» offers another perspective, both in terms of period and subject matter: it contains more than 300 rare objects from the 16th to the 20th century. These include furniture and furnishings, clothing and textiles, photographs and artworks associated with Napoleon Bonaparte, Madame de Pompadour, Gustave Flaubert and French kings. Together, the city’s history and diverse collection objects offer two different ways to explore Lyubertsy’s culture.

Activities and Theatre

The «Kosmopolis» family centre offers a «Ninja» obstacle course, nine bowling lanes, games and simulators, laser tag, a play labyrinth designed as a spaceship, quests and a 5D cinema. Activities and availability may change; check the latest information before your visit. The range spans everything from physical activity and games to experiences involving virtual and spatial environments.

Founded in 2000, the «Raduga» puppet theatre performs, among other venues, at 8 Shosseynaya Street in Lyubertsy. For children aged seven and up, it offers the «Deti papy Karlo» workshop, where they develop stories, write fairy tales, make puppets and stage sets, and take part in performances. The workshop combines writing and making things with staging a production—an experience of theatre that goes beyond simply watching.
