Dmitrovsky District offers a variety of reasons to visit: Angarskie Prudy Park features ponds, an apple orchard, cycling routes and a BMX velodrome; Vagonoremont Park has a stage, children’s playgrounds and sports grounds. Metro and bus services also shape how you get around. When choosing a holiday apartment, it is therefore worth considering first whether your trip is more focused on parks and cycling or on transport links.

Ponds, cycling routes and BMX at Angarskie Prudy Park

At Angarskie Prudy Park, three kilometres of cycling routes run alongside the Large and Small Angarsky Ponds and the apple orchard. This gives a bike ride a clear connection to the landscape, with water and the orchard shaping the route. The Angarsky BMX velodrome adds a distinctive sporting feature. It was established by the early 2000s at the latest and is overseen by the specialised Nagornaya Olympic Reserve Training School for Children and Youth.

In 2024, the park operator stated that boats or pedal boats could be rented at the Large Angarsky Pond daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., from April through the end of September. Seasonal operations may vary, so check the hours before your visit. This helps you plan for this water activity without mistaking it for a year-round offering.

A park landscape with a history

The ponds originated as part of a complex on the Spirkov Vrazhek stream, where the Lianozovo state farm created them. Today they are known as the Large and Small Angarsky Ponds. The park’s development is also specifically dated: in 2012, Dmitrovsky Park was incorporated into Angarskie Prudy Park. The creation of today’s pond landscape and a dated milestone in the park’s history thus come together here.

A different park experience in Vagonoremont

Vagonoremont Park has a different focus: it has a stage, children’s playgrounds and sports grounds. If you are travelling with children, the playgrounds can be a useful point of reference; the stage and sports grounds add other amenities to the picture. By comparison, the ponds, apple orchard, cycling routes and velodrome define a visit to Angarskie Prudy Park. These differences can help you choose an outing that suits your planned activities.

Transport links and accommodation location

Dmitrovsky District is served by Yakhromskaya and Lianozovo metro stations on the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya Line. Many residents can reach the stations on foot. When choosing a holiday apartment, however, the exact address matters: check how it relates to the station that is important for your trip. The Lianozovo station on Moscow Central Diameter Line 1 was moved closer to Dmitrovskoye Highway.

Bus services have also changed: trolleybuses in the district have been replaced by electric buses. Bus stop shelters offer Wi-Fi access and the option to charge devices; these amenities may change. If you rely on them, check locally as needed. Cycling infrastructure is also being expanded, with cycling routes, additional bicycle parking and rental stations. Metro, bus and bicycle travel are different factors you can take into account when planning your accommodation and outings.
