Korenovsk features a river, city parks and memorial sites. The Levy Beysushek River flows through the city; other highlights include the “Blues” music and light fountain, Raduzhny Park and the local history and regional museum. These different themes can help guide your choice of vacation rental: would you like to shape your stay around outdoor recreation or culture and city history?

Riverside Areas, Parks and Water

Korenovsk City Park has a 365-meter-long riverside area paved with paving slabs. Railings run alongside it, and rest areas with rotundas complete this section. Within the park, a riverside path and places to take a break sit side by side. Raduzhny Park has a ship-shaped playground, as well as skateboarding and workout facilities. This adds a more active element. Check the condition of the facilities on site before your visit.

The city beach began welcoming visitors at the start of the 2016 swimming season. In 2019, Korenovsk Beach was the only beach in the Kuban steppe zone where swimming was officially permitted. If you would like to swim today, check local notices. Another city landmark is the “Blues” music and light fountain: it is 12 meters in diameter, has three operating modes, and its jets reach up to 10 meters high. While the riverside area and rest spots invite you to pause, the fountain offers its own combination of music and light.

Museum, Churches and Remembrance

In its Kuban traditional way of life hall, the Korenovsk District Local History and Regional Museum displays the diorama “Settlement of the Cossack Kuren of Korenovsk,” everyday Cossack items and a replica of a Cossack house. The collection brings together a depiction of the settlement, everyday objects and a recreated house. The collection and exhibitions may change over time; if a particular exhibit matters to you, check in advance whether it is currently on display.

The history of a building is also connected with the museum: it was built in 1910, belonged to merchant Arutyunov before the Revolution, and was transferred to the museum in 1997. The Church of Saint Prince Vladimir, Equal to the Apostles, in Korenovsk was consecrated on July 28, 2005, by Metropolitan Isidor of Yekaterinodar and Kuban. The Church of Saint Sabbas the Sanctified was rebuilt at its former site in the 1990s and is considered an active church.

The memorial complex in Korenovsk includes the Eternal Flame and the Alley of Glory. The alley opened in the city park in May 1995 to mark the 50th anniversary of Victory. It is dedicated to the Heroes of the Soviet Union and recipients from Korenovsk of the Order of Glory in all three classes. Together with the churches, the memorial offers another way to explore the town’s history: through consecration and reconstruction, as well as remembrance of people from Korenovsk.

Choosing a Place to Stay

When looking for a vacation rental, consider which experiences you would like to shape your stay. The parks offer different kinds of recreation, while the museum, churches and memorial complex focus on cultural and historical themes. Then compare the locations of specific accommodations with the places you are especially interested in visiting during your stay.
