The Tyulyuk River flows through Tyulyuk. It is considered the highest-altitude river in Chelyabinsk Oblast and is designated a hydrological natural monument. The Larkina Melnitsa tract lies beside the river, three kilometers upstream from the village.

Mountain trails with different time estimates

The one-day route from Tyulyuk to Mount Poperechnaya is nine kilometers long; the ascent takes about four hours. Toward the end of the climb, the boulder fields offer views of Tyulyuk, Mount Iremel, and the Bakty Range. Poperechnaya is 1,389 meters high and is considered the highest and most massive mountain in Zygalga National Park.

The summit of Iremel Nature Park can also be reached from Tyulyuk after a 13-kilometer hike; the walking time for one direction is about four hours. The two four-hour estimates should not be interpreted the same way: for Poperechnaya, the approximate time refers to the ascent, while for Iremel it refers to the walking time in one direction. Check the current park rules before setting out on the Poperechnaya route.

Walks and park access

From Tyulyuk, you can take a walk to the spring of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker. A walk is also possible toward the upper reaches of the Yuryuzan River. As trail conditions can vary, check them before setting out. The third entrance to Zyuratkul National Park is in Tyulyuk; check the current entry requirements before visiting.
