Lunca Bradului: Hiking Trails, Mountain Views and Local History

The marked hiking trail to Vârful Pietrosul Călimanilor begins at the mouth of the Ilva stream in the upper part of Lunca Bradului.

Nature and Hiking

The route leads to Șaua Negoiului, where panoramic views of the Călimani Mountains open up. The trail therefore identifies both the starting point at the Ilva stream and the named destination in the Călimani Mountains. The Reformed branch in Lunca Bradului is mentioned for the first time in written records in the 1880s. The mountain ethnography of the municipality of Lunca Bradului is connected with sheep farming. Together, these references expand the local history to include religious traditions and a form of highland life rooted in the municipality.
