The collection on the history of mining at the Muzeul Judeţean de Istorie şi Arheologie Maramureş comprises around 1,500 objects, including tools, ore transport equipment, underground lighting devices, documents and photographs. The Colonia Pictorilor ensemble was added to the list of historic monuments in 2010.
