Comuna Strâmtura: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
The wooden church “Sfinții Arhangheli Mihail și Gavriil” in Strâmtura is a listed historical monument. It is dated to 1771; dendrochronological analysis also dated beams to 1654–55.
The wooden church was brought from Rozavlea Monastery to Strâmtura as early as 1667. Inside, the church preserves fragments of old royal doors and icons. Its paintings are considered to be of exceptionally high quality, and the colors have been preserved very vividly.
The wooden church “Sfântul Nicolae” in Glod is also a listed historical monument. It is dated to around 1784; another stated year is 1700.

Routes
The Botiza–Poienile Izei–Glod section of the Drumul Maramureșului is an 11-kilometer route for a half-day excursion. A cycling loop leads in stages from Rozavlea via Șieu, Poienile Izei, Slătioara, and Strâmtura back to Rozavlea.
From Slătioara, a branch leads to a salt spring and then to the headwaters of Valea Unghiului. The final ascent to the saddle between Biserica Dracilor and Măgura Glodului runs either through a gully more than 45 degrees steep and shaped by a mountain stream, or across adjacent steep and slippery grassland.
