Culture and History
Mogoșoaia Palace was completed by Constantin Brâncoveanu in the Brâncovenesc style by 1702. At the palace, visitors can view permanent and seasonal exhibitions and stroll through rose gardens, lily gardens and iris gardens.
Cernica Monastery is regarded as a spiritual site as well as a historical monument of culture and ancient art. Pasărea Monastery comprises the Church of the Holy Trinity, with silver-plated icons from the 18th century, and the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.
Căldărușani Monastery is located on a peninsula extending into Lake Căldărușani and is surrounded by Vlăsia Forest. It houses three museums: a collection of books, liturgical vestments and icons, a treasury, and an art gallery. The museum complex is visited annually by Romanian and foreign tourists.
The Èširiac Collection brings together all seven Phantom models from Series I to VII and displays more than 300 automobiles from a collection of approximately 400 vehicles and motorcycles, with models dating from 1899 to the present day. It can be visited for a fee from Monday through Wednesday inclusive; private tours are offered in English or Romanian for individuals and companies.
Fort 13 Jilava served both as a prison and as a transfer centre.
Leisure and Recreation
Therme București uses thermal water rich in mineral salts such as copper, zinc, selenium, calcium and magnesium. The facility has three different areas and dozens of attractions.
Edenland Park offers 16 treetop climbing courses with varying levels of difficulty. Eden Ranch at Edenland offers riding opportunities for beginners and experienced riders with authorised instructors.
The wave pool at Divertiland Water Park offers six different types of waves; foam parties, competitions and concerts also take place there.

The Obeliscul ICE LOUNGE monument is located in the vicinity of Ilfov. Also located nearby are the Fântâna Franceză monument, the Statuia Wolfgang Goethe monument, Parcul Herastrau, Floreasca Park, Parcul Cinematograf Floreasca and Parcul Automatica. Cotroceni Palace is located in the wider regional area surrounding Ilfov.
