Lueta Commune: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
In the centre of the village of Lueta stands the parish church of the Dormition of the Mother of God. The renovated church and the surrounding wall are considered a prominent example of Lueta’s architectural heritage. The church’s patronal feast is celebrated on 8 September, the Feast of the Assumption of Mary.

Culture and History
The Lueta Museum Collection focuses on ethnography, local history and mineralogy. It preserves tools and objects used by the owner’s parents and grandparents, and displays regional mineral resources such as iron ore, salt and charcoal. The Lueta Folk House presents a permanent exhibition featuring photographs of Lueta’s architecture by photographic artist Ádám Gyula.
The Casa muzeală din Lueta is a stone house in the centre of the village with two rooms that reflect the appearance of a traditional Székely room. Locally painted furniture and various textiles are displayed there, reflecting the atmosphere of a traditional shooting hall.
Since 1976, the Daffodils Glade has hosted the Daffodil Festival every year in May. The Lueta Salt House was built over the salt spring in 1866. The listed building supplied Lueta and the surrounding villages with salt.
The Lueta salt spring forms where a large salt layer connected to the Praid salt field meets an underground water source; the brine is highly concentrated.
Local Landscape and Waters
Lueta is characterised by dense development and narrow streets on both banks of the Homorodul Mic; a church stands on the hill.
The Lueta fishing lake is located 7 km south of Lueta from Vlăhița and a further 1 km towards Merești, directly on the DJ 132 road. Carp, crucian carp, white bream and bleak are listed at the lake; predatory fish are not listed there. The Lueta fishing lake has fishing piers and parking spaces for cars.
Nature
The Dumbrava-Harghitei Bog lies west of Miercurea Ciuc, south of the DN13A and northeast of Băile Chirui near the Festő Spring; it is easily accessible via a paved road. The bog covers 2 hectares and has been on the list of botanical protected areas since 1980.
Due to its cool and humid microclimate, the Dumbrava-Harghitei Bog preserves relict plant communities from the Ice Age. Saxifraga hirculus, Paludella squarrosa and Drosera rotundifolia grow in the bog.
In the wider regional area lies Vargyas Gorge, a 4-kilometre-long gorge through which the Vârghiș flows over Jurassic limestone. Orbán-Balázs Cave is one of the well-known caves in Vargyas Gorge. Near Băile Chirui there are three highly mineralised, carbonated mineral water springs with a mineral content of 2 to 4 g/l.
The Festő mineral water spring lies at the confluence of the Tolvajos and Köves streams. A dye mill from the late 19th century located near the Festő Spring at Băile Chirui gave the spring its name, Festő, Hungarian for “painter”.
