In Cornăţelu, the Biserica „Sf. Nicolae” a curţii Socol Cornăţeanu is located at Str. Domniţa Marula 51. The church „Adormirea Maicii Domnului“, „Mucenița Anastasia“ and „Sf. Dumitru“ in Alunişu dates from 1818 and was rebuilt in 1947.

The historic church in Cornăţelu was founded in 1596 by Vintilă Cornăţeanu and Voica and rebuilt in 1726 by Matei Ruset. In Bolovani, the Biserica Sf. Nicolae was founded in 1835.

The archaeological site of Corni is classified as a civil settlement and includes phases from the Bronze Age as well as from the Migration Period of the 5th to 6th centuries.

The Heroes’ Monument is a 265 cm-high cross with motifs of crossed swords and a helmet. It is also a three-beam cross with geometric motifs; its height is stated as 420 cm.

History

Târgul Cornăţelu is described as an annual fair held from September 7 to 9 and has a history of almost four and a half centuries. The old postal road connecting Bucharest with Târgovişte ran near its location. Folk-art artisans from Gheboaia, Dărmăneşti, Drăgăeşti and Ciolpani Pisc (Ilfov), as well as potters from Corunt (Harghita), gather at Târgul Cornăţelu.
