Culture
In the village of Gârbău, a fragment of a 15th-century baptistery on a hill marks the site where a Hungarian church stood in the Middle Ages. Gârbău is also home to the Orthodox wooden church “Sf. The wooden church of Turea has walls made of hewn oak beams. Its roof consists of oak shingles made with a drawknife and joined using tongue-and-groove connections. In Viştea, the complex of the Reformed church dates from the 16th century. The church was initially Catholic and later became Reformed. It includes a massive bell tower with a visible wooden structure; Viștea also has a historical and ethnographic museum.
The archaeological settlement at Dealul Babii is documented as dating from the Eneolithic, the Bronze Age, and the Roman period. Another historical testament in the commune is Lészay Manor, a ruined building with missing doors and windows as well as damaged, drooping beams.
The wooden church in Cornești, Cluj, is among the historical and tourist attractions of Comuna Gârbău. The Orthodox church in Cornești also has accommodation facilities for pilgrims.
