In Bihor, Peștera Vadu Crișului is located in the center of the Crișul-Repede Gorge. A stream runs through the cave and forms a waterfall after emerging from it. Peștera Vadu Crișului is also a natural habitat for a large bat colony, including several species protected at European level. The visitor route takes 30 to 60 minutes; during the tour, visitor groups receive assistance and explanations from a cave guide in Romanian and Hungarian.

The Valea Sighiștelului valley is home to more than 160 caves and ends in a gorge with narrow, vertical rock walls. Peștera Meziadului has a 1,100-meter-long, developed loop route in the shape of a figure eight through the Active Gallery and the Upper Level. It is also home to bat colonies with up to approximately 14,000 animals.
Peștera Urșilor has a visitor pavilion with a museum and a 488-meter-long gallery designated for tourists. It can only be visited in a group and accompanied by a guide. The cave is located near the village of Chișcău in the municipality of Pietroasa in Bihor County, at an altitude of 482 meters, and contains numerous fossils of cave bears.
Activities
In Cefa Nature Park, visitors can fish, watch birds, go boating and ride horses. There are 27 developed hiking trails in the Padiș–Vârtop tourist area.
In Vârtop, visitors can go mountain hiking, mountain biking, alpine skiing, ski touring, via ferrata, climbing, rappelling and specialized caving. In Stâna de Vale, alpine skiing, ski touring, mountain hiking, climbing and rappelling at waterfalls are possible.
Location
Vârtop forms the southern boundary of Apuseni Nature Park. The Vârtop holiday village is located in the Bihor Mountains at an altitude of 1,150 meters, on the border between Bihor and Alba counties, along national road DN75.
Stâna de Vale is a mountain spa resort at an altitude of 1,102 meters, with mineral springs, waterfalls and landscapes of the Apuseni Mountains.
