Bughea de Sus in the Iezer Mountains
Accommodation in Bughea de Sus
Spa resort
Bughea de Sus is designated as a tourist and balneoclimatic spa resort; the designation was made in accordance with Government Decision H.G. 867/2006.
The balneoclimatic spa resort is located at an altitude of 590 metres. At the same time, Bughea de Sus is known as the balneoclimatic spa resort of Băile Măgura.
The springs of Măgura are athermal and hypotonic, and they are used for both external and internal treatments.
A hydrothermal deposit has been located in Bughea de Sus; this deposit is found in four water springs.
The mineral springs of Bughea de Sus are associated with Miocene deposits in the region.
These two components supplement the description of the water composition with a variable element: not all four water springs have the same concentration; instead, the values differ from spring to spring within the spring area.
The spa resort thus combines the name Băile Măgura with a clearly defined spring area and several traditionally documented characteristics of the water composition.
Nature
Bughea de Sus lies at the foot of the Iezer Mountains. Hills surround the commune, including Măgura, Coasta Înaltă, and Gresia.
These hills are covered with fir, oak, birch, beech, and poplar forests. The surroundings are therefore characterised by several types of forest and by the named elevations of Măgura, Coasta Înaltă, and Gresia.
The Bughea River carries clear, cold water.
The combination of wooded hills, the Bughea River, and the location at the foot of the Iezer Mountains gives the landscape various natural points of reference within and around the commune.

Culture
The church of “Schimbarea la față” stands in the commune of Bughea de Sus. It was built around 1892 and is classified as a category B historic monument. The monument code AG-II-m-B-13501 applies to the church.
The monument to the heroes of the First and Second World Wars stands on DC15A road, opposite the school.
The monument consists of three bodies made of mosaic concrete. The three bodies stand on a plinth with three recessed levels. A cross crowns the monument.
Bughea de Sus therefore documents both a church from the late 19th century and a monument to the heroes of the First and Second World Wars, with a precise location and distinctive design.
