Culture and History
Galeșu has an Orthodox parish church named Biserica „Sf. Împărați Constantin și Elena“. The church was first built from stone in 1877. After being struck by lightning for the third time on 3 July 1978, it was rebuilt and reconsecrated in summer 1980. For historic churches, current opening or visiting hours may be important for planning the day.
Casa lui Palalogelu was moved to the church grounds in 2010 and converted into a small museum housing part of Galeș's history. It is considered the oldest building in the village of Galeș. The building of the Muzeul Etnografic al Satului Galeș follows the tradition of mountain houses: it has a foundation made of river stones, walls made of beams and a shingle roof. In the courtyard of the Muzeul Satului Galeș has stood a stone monument with an eagle since 1938, dedicated to the residents of Galeș who fell in the First World War.
Another destination is Brădetu.
