Beach and Baltic Sea views

The wide, sandy coastal beach lies several kilometres west of Kołobrzeg. On the landward side, it is bordered by dunes with pine forest. This describes a coastal landscape where the open beach and the wooded dune edge offer different impressions. A modern viewing terrace at the beach offers views of the Baltic Sea and its sunsets. It serves as a stopping point for walkers and cyclists. From there, you can enjoy a sea view without going down to the beach itself—an option in its own right for anyone who prefers to view the coast from above.

Water sports and trips out to sea

At Lake Resko, Marina Błękitna offers opportunities for sailing, windsurfing and kitesurfing. It is considered one of the most modern facilities in Pomerania. Those interested in different kinds of water sports will find a different focus here than on a trip out to the Baltic Sea: Dzwirzyno’s former fishing harbour is now a fishing and tourist harbour. From there, you can find options for coastal sailing, fishing trips and sea excursions in small boats.

The Centre for Water Tourism and Recreation also offers various activities on the water during the summer season. SUP boards, kayaks and pedal boats are available for hire, as well as small sailing boats of the Optymist, Eikplast and Omega types. The different options can shape your holiday choice: would you like to get out on a board or in a kayak, prefer a pedal boat, or are you interested in sailing and boat trips? Dzwirzyno thus combines several clearly distinct experiences on the water without prescribing a particular holiday rhythm.

Dunes, marsh forest and ancient oaks

Among the distinctive natural areas is Bór wrzoścowy, an ecological reserve in the northeast of Dzwirzyno. It includes a coastal marsh forest habitat of about two hectares in a shallow dune hollow, unique on the Polish coast and associated with coastal crowberry pine forests. The “Patelnia” shifting dune lies behind the “Havet” and “Geovita” hotels. It moves about two metres northeast each year. Together, these places illustrate different features of the coastal landscape: a dune hollow, marsh forest and a dune whose movement changes over the years.

Individual trees are also among the town’s protected natural features. A group of 16 pedunculate oaks on Wyzwolenia Street is protected as a natural monument. Their trunk circumferences range from 125 to 250 centimetres. This precise range makes clear that this is a group of trees with different trunk measurements, not a single natural monument.

A historic building in the town

If you are interested in architectural history as well as the coast and nature, you can visit the former Elisabeth Seehospitz, now “Bałtyk”. It is one of the oldest of the 22 buildings in Dzwirzyno that are protected as historic monuments. This historical connection adds another facet to the town’s nature and water-based experiences.
