Historical Traces in Budzistowo

An early medieval hillfort lies in the centre of Budzistowo. The Hunting Palace in Budzistowo was built in the eclectic style around the turn of the 20th century. A terrace at the rear, on its western side, offers views of the park, the orchard and the nearby Parsęta River. The hillfort and the Hunting Palace thus represent distinctly different historical periods.

The stones in front of the Church of St John the Baptist show the coats of arms of Wrocław and Kraków, which became bishoprics in the year 1000, as well as that of Gniezno, which became an archbishopric. The coats of arms draw attention beyond the building itself to the church history of these cities.

The Early Medieval Festival also took place in Budzistowo; an edition was announced for 13 and 14 June 2026.

Landscape and Beach in the Kołobrzeg Destination

Another way to explore the area actively is the 55 km Wokół Jeziora Resko route: it runs mostly through the Kołobrzeg Municipality and also extends into the neighbouring Trzebiatów Municipality. The Municipal Centre for Sport and Recreation in Dźwirzyno offers bicycle rental for exploring the Kołobrzeg Municipality.
