Cedynia: History and Routes Along the Oder

In Cedynia, early history, places of remembrance and routes along the Oder come together. Traces of Early Cedynia

Looking south, you can see as far as Bad Freienwalde and Odrzycko (Oderberg); to the northeast, as far as Świecie nad Odrą (Schwedt).

Museum and Regional History

The regional museum in Cedynia has a permanent exhibition entitled “Z dziejów Cedyni i okolic”. It presents archaeological finds from excavations at a hillfort, a cemetery and sites in the area around Cedynia, including early medieval weapons. The exhibition thus complements the view of the Grodzisko with finds from various archaeological contexts. After renovation work was completed, the museum reopened to visitors on 15 January 2026.

Another exhibition focuses on a different period in history: “Na drodze stała Odra” explores the history of the region during the Second World War, the fighting for the Osinów Dolny bridgehead and the crossing of the Oder in 1945. Cycle Route and Walking Path
