Lubczyna: Marina, Green Spaces and Lakeside
Accommodation in Lubczyna
Lubczyna combines life by the water with room to take a break outdoors. The marina, its green spaces and the designated picnic area appeal to travellers who want to combine time on the water and on land. There are also cycling options: a circular cycling route passes through Lubczyna and continues towards the beach by the lake. When choosing a holiday apartment, it helps to first decide what you want to focus on – boating and paddling, cycling, or excursions to historic sites in the wider destination of Gollnow.
Marina and Activities on the Water
Lubczyna Marina is part of the Ośrodek Sportu i Rekreacji w Goleniowie and has three basins with a total capacity of more than 70 boats. If capacity is important for your plans, confirm current availability directly with the operator.
The harbour is fairly well sheltered from the wind and suitable for boats with a shallow draught. When entering, take care to follow the marked channel and watch for possible shallows; check the latest nautical information for your specific trip.
Yachts can be chartered and kayaks and pedal boats hired at the marina. It is best to enquire in advance about which options are available on your preferred date. The marina also offers access to electricity, water and the internet, recreational areas and parking. If you rely on any of these facilities, confirm that they are currently operating before your trip.
Green Spaces, Picnics and Cycling
The extensive green spaces provide room for leisure activities. There is a designated picnic area for barbecues and campfires; check the local rules before using it. This makes it easy to complement a day of activities on the water with time on land.
The “Nad wodę, po słońce i zapach łąk” circular cycling route passes through Lubczyna and continues towards the beach by the lake. A route description published in 2013 calls the beach a rest stop for tired cyclists. Check the route conditions before setting out, especially if you plan to make this section the focus of your cycling day.
Another option nearby is the Blue Velo cycling route: the section along the coast towards Lubczyna runs along the embankment, but is unfinished and in places sandy and overgrown. The cycling options described are therefore quite different: one is a route through Lubczyna to the beach, while the other is an incomplete section that is partly overgrown. As route conditions can change, check them before your ride.
In the wider destination of Gollnow: Architectural History in Goleniów
In the wider destination of Gollnow, Goleniów offers its own points of interest for urban history and culture. Brama Wolińska, also known as Brama Chrobrego, is a Gothic defensive gate dating from the 14th century. It is 26 metres high and has six storeys. The passageway houses the Centrum Informacji Turystycznej, which provides information on points of interest in the town and region, cycling routes, and cultural and sporting events, among other things.
Significant sections of Goleniów’s medieval town walls have survived. The most interesting and best-preserved section lies to the southwest of the Old Town, by the Ina. The river flows through the town of Goleniów and the municipality of Goleniów. The Goleniowska Aleja Legend is also located by the Ina: a riverside promenade renovated in 2013, with granite sculptures depicting local legends.
Twierdza Design reveals another side of the town. This historic industrial site originated as a railway water tower, which was renovated between 2019 and 2020; it is used by social organisations. Visitors who want to explore historic buildings and other points of interest in Goleniów can follow the Miejski Szlak Turystyczny. The route is marked with blue footprints.
Choose your holiday apartment search according to which of these themes you want to shape your trip.
