Palace and Park History

The former manor granary dates from 1756 and is considered the oldest building of its kind in the region. You can reserve a visit in person or by telephone one week in advance through the Centrum Kultury, Promocji i Turystyki in Ryglice; reservations can be made there between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Plan your visit with this lead time and confirm the reservation details in advance.

The palace and park complex is in the northern part of Ryglice; the history of the palace dates back to the 17th century. In front of the palace is an oval, tree-lined driveway with a silver lime tree protected as a natural monument. Two ponds lie south of the palace. To the west, remains of a former orchard and an avenue that separated the palace from the farm buildings have been preserved. The driveway, ponds and garden remains give the park different spatial connections to the palace complex.

Churches and Historic Memorials

The Church of Saint Catherine was built between 1928 and 1940. Father Jakub Wyrwa directed the construction, the design was by architect Jan Sas-Zubrzycki, and Franciszek Boratyński supervised the building work. The church contains a stone Renaissance baptismal font dating from 1554. Here, a 20th-century church building meets a piece of Renaissance furnishings.

The statue of Saint Florian also has its own history: it dates from 1830 and has been a monument to the victory at Grunwald since 1910. An inscription on the pedestal indicates this dedication. Its creation date and its later role as a monument mark two distinct historical moments.

The Old Cemetery was established in the mid-19th century. Those buried in the Cemetery Chapel of Saint Stephen include former owners of Ryglice: Count Stefan Leśniowski, his daughter Stefania Szczepańska, and Count Zaremba-Cielecki, the last owner of the Ryglice estates.

Get Creative and Explore on Foot

SOWA Ryglice offers a creative workshop with materials as well as building and logic challenges. Visitors can build and experiment there. Alongside the historical attractions, this provides a hands-on activity focused on creating and testing things.

If you would like to plan a hike, you can take the blue PTTK hiking trail from Ryglice to Żurowa. It passes over Wielka Góra and is 8.6 kilometres long. The route therefore has named endpoints and a described course over Wielka Góra. You can include it as a standalone hiking stage alongside the town's cultural-historical and creative attractions.
