Baošići: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Culture

The Church of St Nicholas is listed as an immovable cultural asset of local significance. It was built more than 400 years ago and restored in 1802. The Dom starog kapetana Štumbergera Museum in Baošići is managed by the public museum institution of Herceg Novi; the Dom starog kapetana was opened to visitors in 1955.

The Štumberger house collection includes ethnological objects, old weapons, books, models of sailing ships, amphorae, icons, paintings and old coins. The Dom starog kapetana estate in Baošići also includes a park and a small vineyard. The French writer Pierre Loti came ashore in Baošići in 1880.

Baošići has a documented maritime heritage: during the heyday of seafaring in the Bay of Kotor, the settlement is said to have had more than 30 ocean-going ships and over 50 sea captains. Baošići is also home to the only fishing cooperative in the Bay of Kotor.

History

The memorial in Dubci, Baošići, commemorates six fighters of the National Liberation War. The six patriots commemorated there were executed at this location by the Italian occupation authorities on 5 August 1942.

The finale of the Mimosa Festival takes place on the shore of Baošići and continues a tradition that has lasted for more than 40 years.
