Local Cultivation
A. Narbutas's vineyard in Vynupė comprised more than 200 different grape varieties, which differed in shape, colour, taste and aroma.
In the past, the grapes on A. Narbutas's property in Vynupė ripened in the greenhouse; as a result, the harvest began about a month earlier than outdoors. The grape varieties cultivated in Vynupė included Muscat grapes, a Bulgarian grape variety and the dessert grape “Jantar”.
Various blueberry, apple, pear, plum and peach varieties, as well as other fruit trees, fruit bushes and nut trees, grew on A. Narbutas's farm.
