A central cultural reference point is the Casa Museo Pio X complex. It consists of Casa Maggion, Pio X's birthplace, and the museum. Pio X's birthplace within the Casa Museo Pio X is a national monument and, at the same time, a well-preserved example of rural architecture. This makes it possible to explore the history of the place not only through a single personality, but also through a specific building and its architectural design.

The Chiesa di San Matteo is another part of Riese Pio X's historical character. It was built in the 18th century based on a design by Andrea Zorzi, an architect from Padua.

Pilgrimage Trails and Historical Connections

Riese Pio X is the first stage of the pilgrimage route “Sulle orme di Giuseppe Sarto”. The Sentiero del Curiotto is also connected with this route: the young Giuseppe Sarto regularly used the trail to reach the Santuario delle Cendrole. The entrance to the Sentiero del Curiotto is located about 500 metres from the cemetery in the direction of Cendrole. The Santuario della Beata Vergine delle Cendrole was one of the oldest parish churches under the jurisdiction of the Bishop of Treviso.

Poetry, Parkland and Rural Character

The Parco della Poesia Andrea Zanzotto is located in the green surroundings of Villa Eger. Villa Eger is a historic patrician residence whose guests included the young Giuseppe Sarto. Since its opening in 2016, the park has added new poetry trails every year. Along the park avenues are reading stands displaying selected verses by local authors and unpublished poems.

This place creates a deliberate contrast with the historic churches and the pilgrimage route. Rather than focusing exclusively on dates and architectural history, the Parco della Poesia Andrea Zanzotto combines landscape, literature and a peaceful stay outdoors.

Traditional Event in September

A special aspect of local customs is the Palio dei Mussi. This is a traditional donkey race held every year on the third Sunday in September at the historic Mussodromo racetrack. The historical parade before the Palio dei Mussi honours the history, culture and customs of the Riese Pio X community from the early 20th century. Historical costumes, traditional dances and demonstrations of old crafts from all eight districts are part of this festive setting.

Cycling and Walking Trail through the Countryside

For active days, the approximately 15-kilometre Sui Sentieri degli Ezzelini cycling and walking trail offers another option. It runs through the countryside between Loria and Riese Pio X and then continues through the small nature park along the old riverbed of the Muson.
