The area outside the waterfall and Molinetto della Croda itself are freely accessible all year round; the outdoor area and the ground floor of Molinetto della Croda are open to everyone. Allow 30 to 60 minutes for the visit. From March to the end of October, there are equipped outdoor areas for picnics, so you can also combine your visit with a relaxing break.

At Molinetto della Croda, you will find exhibitions and art exhibitions of various kinds. A small museum explains the history and operating techniques of water mills. On special occasions, the wheel and millstone of Molinetto della Croda are operated. Visitors can also watch a demonstration in which Molinetto della Croda grinds cornmeal. For group visits, telephone reservations are required, including the arrival date, arrival time and number of visitors.

Tempietto Spada and Villa Spada

A footpath leads from Refrontolo’s piazza to Tempietto Spada. The building was erected around 1884 and rebuilt in 1992. It stands at an exceptional viewpoint offering a 360-degree view over the Quartier dei Piave and Felettano and is dedicated to Madonna del Carmelo. The history of Villa Spada also goes back a long way: its construction began in the second half of the 17th century and was completed in the late 19th century; at that time, the villa passed to the Spada family.

The annual wine exhibition takes place on the ground floor of the barchessa of Villa Spada and also includes the outdoor portico. The Mostra del vino Prosecco e Refrontolo Passito D.O.C. takes place between the end of April and the beginning of May. This gives Refrontolo, alongside its paths and historic buildings, a specific occasion to explore the wines of the area.

Church history and regional discoveries

The parish church in Refrontolo is also part of the town’s history. Its origins can be traced back to the 11th century. It was originally a chapel dependent on the Pieve di San Pietro di Feletto. In the second half of the 15th century, it was rebuilt and became a parish church. The bell tower dates from 1613.

This makes it possible to plan a trip around active walks, manageable sightseeing visits and special events, without every single day of the holiday having to focus on the same thing.
