Local culture and memorial sites

Ruraliă is a historical and natural history educational trail and a museum of knowledge and memories in Borgo Case Marian in Cison di Valmarino. The Chiesa arcipretale is an 18th-century church with two façades and 19th-century sculptures by Marco Casagrande.

The Bosco delle Penne Mozze is a dispersed memorial complex in Cison di Valmarino with plaques commemorating Alpini from the Province of Treviso who fell in the 20th century. The Bosco also includes 2,448 names of Alpini who fell in the First World War or in later conflicts. Paths through the Bosco lead to steles by Simon Benetton. The steles bear names, dates of birth and death, the division and the cause of death. The paths to the steles run through the dispersed memorial complex.

Trails and historic routes

The Via dell'Acqua is a three-kilometre trail in the town of Cison di Valmarino. The Via dell'Acqua Breve leads from the Museo Ruraliă to the Mulino Fiorin and returns via Campo Molino as a circular route. For a walk around the town, allow three kilometres for the Via dell'Acqua. The return via Campo Molino is part of the loop on the Via dell'Acqua Breve.

Cison di Valmarino has trails and routes for Nordic walking, cycling and horseback riding. The Nordic walking, cycling and horseback-riding routes each offer a different way of getting around. The historic Strada dei 100 giorni was built by the Austro-Hungarian army in 1918 and features five hairpin bends through tunnels.

Local cuisine and the Prosecco wine region

Local cuisine includes Buzholà, traditional Cison biscuits made with egg yolk, flour and butter. Spiedo is a dish of pork, chicken and rabbit cooked on a spit for at least seven hours. The minimum cooking time of seven hours means that Spiedo requires a long preparation time in the kitchen. Preparation therefore begins long before serving.

The area around Cison di Valmarino belongs to the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG wine region. In the region's wineries, the wine can be tasted and purchased.
