The Church of Santa Cristina was built on the ruins of the earlier castle of the same name; its remains were used in the construction of the church. Near Casa Orlando, excavations uncovered the remains of a rural Roman villa from the 1st century BC, including an area for wine production.

During the Palio di San Bernardino, historic crafts and traditional flavors come back to life in Valtopina every year. The Mostra Mercato del Tartufo Valtopina 2025 included a truffle-hunting competition and offered visitors truffle dishes rooted in Umbria’s traditional culinary traditions.
